Rest up, we are in the late spots for the ACC tourney

By finishing 6th in the ACC, BC will face No. 11 Virginia in the night cap slot on Thursday. The tipoff is scheduled for 9 PM ET, but the game never starts on time. Look for it to begin at 9:15 at the earliest and probably closer to 9:45.

If BC advances, we'll be in the late spot Friday night too. The ACC has the split deal with Raycom and ESPN for the tournament. For those in Raycom markets, you'll see BC. For those outside Raycom's coverage map, you'll have to watch the first round in a bar or via one of ESPN's package outlets (360 or Fullcourt). Friday's game will be on ESPN 2.

If you are making the trip to the ATL, remember there is a BC event Wednesday night. For those interested in two sport double headers, the baseball team is also in town this weekend too.

I think we actually got a better draw than I thought we would. I much prefer to play UVA rather than GT, and I would rather face Duke in the quarters than Wake. Let's just hope we take care of Virginia, then the rest is gravy.

Skinner's coaching style is unique and gives us our fair share of frustrating moments....but you have to recognize the consistent over-achievements through the years.

i agree about wanting uva over GT --- but i dunno. Im not thinking about 'matchups' in a potential 2nd round opponent... but I just dont think we'd beat duke twice in 30 days...

We're not gonna have an easy time against Duke, Wake, or UNC, so pick your poison. Duke is as good a choice as any.

I guess my point was that there's no way we're beating Wake, but at least we know we can beat Duke.

If we take care of Virginia, the Duke game would be really significant for BC's tournament seeding. Beating Duke would give BC another top 5 RPI win on a neutral court, which would be huge. A 6 seed would be a reasonable possibility if BC beats Duke. That would make a sweet 16 run much more realistic.

Ok, I have a pet peeve. I wish there was one standard number for evaluating a team's last number of games. It used to 10, now this year I've been hearing 12.

The articles written about the GT game all say "BC has lost 4 of its last 7 games." That's a little unfair, because before that 7 game stretch, we had won 5 in a row. That 7 game stretch was brutal -- including 5 games against @Wake, Clemson, Duke, @Miami, and FSU. The fact that we won 2 of those 5 was pretty remarkable.

If you go with "last 10", we're 6-4. If you go with "last 12", we're 8-4.

Morrina I couldn't agree with you more about your last comment. I was angry at the completely arbitrary and ridiculous 7 game parameter. Since when it is standard to report how a team is doing over the last seven games?

Far more relevant would be to point out how we won 3 of our last 5, including a win over a team we hadn't beaten in what, 24 years?

The negative slant is telling and unsurprising. But despite it not being surprising, it doesn't make it any less outrageous or disgusting.
