Why did Rettig wear an "NP" on his helmet? UPDATE

FYI: After I posted, A.J. alerted me that the sticker was in honor of his former teammate Nick Pasquale.

Last week against USC, Chase Rettig wore a circle sticker on the back of his helmet with the letters "NP" (see picture below). I took note of it at the time, but did not read an explanation after the game.

Then Saturday a series of players in other games wore circular stickers with the letters "APU." Their stickers were a protest about college athletes getting paid. Obviously the letters are different, so Rettig's sticker is likely unrelated, but I still don't know why he wore it. If anyone has any answers, email me or post it in the comments.

It was for Nick Pasquale, the UCLA player who died. I believe they are from the same area.

Some were claiming that Rettig was going to be all ACC. In his two games against Div 1 teams he has completed 18 of 38. He has averaged a little better than 100 yards a game. Why are the coaches only calling 19 passes a contest? Why is the completion rate less than 50%? Major turnovers have been avoided yet in three games they average only 18 per. Lets hope they are holding back for the meat of the schedule and that the games against Wake and USC aren't indicative of the overall offense.2. What a difference a year makes. Edsall was supposed to be on the hot seat but now looks like a star. His team crushed a WVU squad that played Oklahoma evenly. The U Conn coach may be in trouble. GT, Maryland, FSU, Miami and Clemson, all ACC members should be ranked. Louisville, a future member and ND a partial member will be ranked. That's seven ACC affiliate teams in the top 25. Not bad. 3. Could UCF be in the national title picture? They beat PSU on the road and pounded Akron at home. Akron outplayed Michigan in Ann Arbor where the Wolverines needed help from the Big 10 officials to prevail.( Michigan struggled with a bad U Conn team and is vastly overrated.) Were UCF able to beat S. Carolina this week the only major hurdle left would be Louisville.4.Why does it seem that SEC teams fare poorly when they leave Dixie? Arkansas fell to Rutgers and Tennessee got destroyed at Oregon. Are they only a power in a region and in the medias imagination? 5. Stanford a top 5 program beat Army by two touchdowns. Wake beat Army by two touchdowns. So BC's two touchdown victory over Wake, one could argue, make BC superior to Stanford. Nova and USC also won yesterday providing more evidence of BC's prodigious strength. FSU better be ware.

Oregon would destroy anybody at home and Tennessee is a bottom dweller along with Arkansas in the SEC.

The comments about UCF are interesting. I believe that this would be a good team for BC to schedule. They are situated in the Orlando area fairly near Disney. George O'Leary has done well since he left Georgia Tech for a "three hour tour" at Notre Dame. BTW, he was working on his Master's degree which he now has. To say the least, ND was a bit harsh on running him out of town. I am happy for his success. Addazio has the same type of profile. I am hopin' that Daz will develop a similar program over the next 3-5 years.

Ryan Quigley really had a good game against Buffalo today. The kicker was cut and the job was given to Quigley. His punts actually were enough to spell the difference between a W and a L.

The 10:59 post is laugh out loud funny.

Maybe rescheduling the UCF game would cause what really happened between Spaz, Kevin Rogers, & health issues to come out.
