Jahmin Muse joins recruiting class

Addazio keeps making the most of this downtime before the bowl game. The coach added to his recruiting class as New Jersey WR Jahmin Muse verballed over the weekend. Muse is listed as an athlete so he might end on Defense. He had offers from Purdue, Iowa, Rutgers, and a few other power 5 programs.

I don't know what's to explain the recent uptick in recruiting. Maybe the improvement on the field. Maybe Addazio is on a hot streak. Who cares? Let's just hope he keeps riding this momentum until Signing Day.

At minimum, he's got an all time great name.

If BC had a top 50 offense back in 2015, they would've finished the year in the top 10 in the country. Sounds crazy but the BC defense was so dominant and the offense was worse then many D1aa programs. If BC can continue this run of great defenses it'll only be a matter of time before the offense becomes halfway decent and BC becomes relevant in the ACC again.

Unlikely Chris. No OL. No QB. No balance. No passing threat. Opponents stuff box. Stop an RB

By the way , for 2016 class BC picked up only 2 OZl. Zero DT,

Georgraphically, lot of northeast recruits. But no FL recruits and no GA recruits. Actually, no southern recruits at all. Not good.

No PA recruits either.

Mod,

Are you telling us dazoshit once again failed to sign any quality 3-star OLs? That's inconceivable knowing the line is BCs major weakness. What the hell is this dud doing?

No QB to throw passes to him and nobody to block for the QB.

Moot.

If you can't convince them with facts, then "dazzle" them with b------t. The consensus is that a new coach is in order. Leahy and Fish are giving him a reprise. It kind of reminds me of the accountant for the French school nuns in my hometown. He embezzled 500K @50K for 10 years. He was given jail time and the good nuns forgave him and he never served a day. Let's see who the new A.D. is. If it is someone worthwhile, then there would be an evaluation process over the next year. It would make sense to bring in TC for one year. There were rumors that this would be done before the clock in Times Square drops. It would make no sense to keep a "lame duck" till June to evaluate AFLAC.

It seems that SDSU runs the same kind of offense that Daz wants to implement. Too bad that they have a competent coach, 3 great RBs, a good offensive line, and a serviceable QB. Not to mention the fact that it has a really nasty defense. It's sad when schools like SDSU have significantly better players than BC.

Daz will finish out his contract if he only continues .500 ball and a NO NAME bowl. Get used to it !!! Especially if they win the bowl against Maryland which is TOTALLY possible !!!!

Looking forward to Louisiana Tech (with last year's BC Offensive Coordinator) playing Navy in Fort Worth on Friday. Something tells me that it won't be RRPP or RRRP.

Our OL recruiting under Daz is brutal. If he wants to play his kind of football, he needs guys who are 25 pounds heavier at least. Georgia just got a kid from Brooklyn at 6'7", 351 pounds, 5 star recruit. We can't get anyone.

Sad times at BC under the present regime. Sad times for 8 years.

But keep padding your retirement accounts, boys.

And BC fans? How are you doing, succahs?

John - the Poly Prep kid was the #1 recruit in the country i believe. Daz does have a 6'6" 320 pound high schooler from Hilliman's high school coming in. Chris Lindstrom's brother who only weighs 240 is also coming, he'll obviously need to redshirt. i believe 3 freshman OL redshirted this year (kowalkowski, leonard, ragan) while only one played (johnson), so we should have 3 RS FR and 2 true freshman on the roster next year.

at least the excuses will be up for Daz next year. the OL will be guys he recruited and trained. the "5 year rebuild" trope will actually be in year 5. put up or shut up time daz.

The Brooklyn kid grew up watching UGA.
Probably saw the co-eds, too. Can't blame him.

"It's sad when schools like SDSU have significantly better players than BC." Is it really? SDSU has minimal to no admission standards, meaning they can pretty much accept anyone. Oh yeah, the location, climate, etc doesn't make it hard on recruiting either. They have the same number of Heisman winners as BC and puts a fair amount of players into the NFL as well. One more thing, they now have the all time leading rusher in college football so I'm not sure why it's such a shock that SDSU could recruit just as well if not better players than BC. BC does play in a much more competitive and high profile conference I get that but there are plenty of positives as far as recruiting goes and SDSU...

Rei--You're significantly out of your league on this one. #1 SDSU's facilities are horrendous. They play their home games in an off-campus, 50 year old+ Qualcomm Stadium. #2 SDSU has had 0 Heisman Trophy winners. Same as BC right? #3 SDSU's football program stunk for the majority of its existence. They had a good run under Air Coryell in the 60s and early 70s but basically didn't do anything until Brady Hoke turned the program around (much like its basketball team until Fisher came along). They went to 1 bowl game in 20 years before their recent turnaround. In 21 years in the WAC, they won 1 conference championship. In the MWC, they've won 2 (also under the recent turnaround). #4 BC has significantly produced higher profile NFL players than SDSU. #5 BC has more players in the NFL than SDSU currently and its been that way for a long long time. #6 Donnel Pumphrey was only a 3 star recruit out of Vegas who didn't get many big time college offers due to his size. #7 SDSU is always going to have a rough time recruiting due to its location: it's never going to compete with UCLA, USC, Arizona, etc. for the big time recruits. SDSU just does a much better job developing its players around a system it's successfully implemented than BC does.

All valid points Bravesbill, I was wrong on the Heisman. I forgot Marshall Faulk was snubbed for the Heisman and it was given to Gino Torretta. Are BC's facilities now state of the art because all I read on this blog are how BC's facilities are garbage? Seems to be a selective argument when it works in favor or not. Pumphrey a 3-star recruit? Again, all I read on this blog is how BC's recruiting is garbage and all we get are 3-star recruits and never any 3 or 4 star recruits yeah? Looks to me like you can actually find some talent at the "3-star" level. Correct me if I'm wrong but BC had a history of taking 3-star recruits and developing them into 4 or 5-star players down the road. Yes, the stadium situation for SDSU is awful. They only had a decent program in the 60's and 70's and with Brady Hoke. Check yourself on that one. Does an 8-3 season not count as not doing anything for you, ie. 1990's? Sure they will struggle competing against UCLA, USC, Arizona, etc. but there is plenty of talent to go around. Is your point that kids will only want to go to those schools? Case in point, AJ Dillon. Kid has a full ride to Michigan, safe to say a bit more of a football powerhouse than BC yet he flips and goes to BC. There are more factors involved than just being a big name school. The talent pool is rich in the western region, just like the south, etc. so there is talent to go around. My point was that there are factors that work in favor of SDSU in the recruiting game that may pose more of a challenge to BC. It goes both ways though I get it. There are other factors that work in favor of BC.....

Sdsu made 1 bowl game between 1992 and 2010 so they obviously weren't going 8-3. And I'm merely pointing out that a mostly middling mid major team has a better roster than BC which should never happen. Most of the reason isn't recurring either. It's coaching and player development.
